Located just 6 km from Tangi Gate of Murchison Falls National Park, Bwana Tembo Safari Camp offers a comfortable and peaceful stay close to nature. The lodge combines modern comfort with a natural setting to give guests a relaxing experience in the wild.
The name “Bwana Tembo” is a Swahili word meaning “Master Elephant” or “Sir Elephant.” It was chosen to show respect for the elephants that lived in the area during the time the camp was being built.

The camp has 6 self-contained cottages and 4 self-contained safari tents. Each unit is designed to provide privacy and comfort, along with beautiful views of the surrounding area.
All rooms come with essential features and amenities, including hot and cold showers, en-suite bathrooms, electricity, flush toilets, ceilings, king-size beds, bedside lamps, private balconies, charging sockets, and tiled floors.
The safari tents are raised on wooden platforms to protect guests from ground dampness during rainy weather.
The staff at the lodge are friendly and helpful. They make sure guests feel welcome and enjoy their stay.
The camp also has a restaurant that serves both local and international meals. One of the highlights is its Italian dishes, which are popular among visitors.
There is also a well-stocked bar where guests can relax and enjoy a variety of drinks after a day of activities.
In addition to the comfortable accommodation and meals, guests at Bwana Tembo Safari Camp can take part in guided game drives to see wildlife such as giraffes, antelopes, elephants, lions, and leopards.
The camp also provides opportunities to visit nearby communities and learn about local culture. Guests can enjoy traditional music, dance, and stories from the local people.
A stay at Bwana Tembo Safari Camp is not just a holiday! It is a chance to connect with nature and experience the beauty of the wild.
