Detailed 3-Day Murchison Falls Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After your arrival in Uganda, or from your hotel, your driver picks you up and begins the journey to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
At Ziwa, you join a guided nature walk to track southern white rhinos. Game drives are not allowed inside the sanctuary, so walking is the only way to view these animals. You may also see zebras, antelopes, waterbucks, and warthogs during the walk.
After rhino tracking, you continue the journey with a stop for lunch along the way. Before entering the park, you visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile pushes through a narrow gap and drops below with force. You arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
After breakfast, you head out for a game drive across the park’s savannah plains. Sightings often include lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes, four of the Big Five. Giraffes, hyenas, antelopes, waterbucks, and reedbucks are also commonly seen.
You return to the lodge for lunch, or take a bush lunch if arranged in advance. In the afternoon, you head to the boat landing on the Victoria Nile for your boat cruise. The cruise shows wildlife living in and around the river, including hippos and Nile crocodiles sunbathing on the banks. Elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes often come down to drink at the river’s edge, and you may spot them during the ride.
After the cruise, your guide drives you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure
After breakfast, you check out of the lodge and begin the return trip to Entebbe International Airport, with a stop for lunch on the way. Depending on your flight time, you are dropped off at the airport or your hotel.
Book this 3-day Murchison Falls budget safari for an affordable way to combine rhino tracking, game drives, and a Nile boat cruise in one trip.
