Detailed 15-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up at Entebbe International Airport
You meet our company representative at Entebbe International Airport. After a short briefing about the safari, you proceed to your pre-booked hotel in Entebbe City.
Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park with Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, the journey to Murchison Falls National Park begins along the Kampala-Gulu highway. The drive takes 6 to 7 hours, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for guided rhino tracking. From there, you continue to Masindi for lunch, then on to your lodge near or inside the park.
Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
You head out for a guided game drive in the northern part of the park. Sightings may include elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribis, and various birds.
You return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile takes you to the base of Murchison Falls, with hippos, crocodiles, and water birds visible along the way. After photos at the bottom of the falls, you return to Paraa Jetty.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, you drive to Kibale National Park through Hoima and Fort Portal, with lunch in Fort Portal before continuing to your lodge near the forest.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Nature Walk
You head to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing and are assigned a ranger and chimp group. Tracking starts at 8:00 a.m. and includes one hour with the chimpanzees for observation and photos. After lunch, a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland brings chances to see monkeys, birds, mammals, and plants.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
After breakfast, you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Kasese, passing crater lakes, open landscapes, and the Rwenzori Mountains, with a stop at the Equator in Kikorongo for photos. After lunch at the lodge, an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel brings sightings of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and birds.
Day 7: Full-Day Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you head to Kasenyi Plains for a morning game drive, with possible sightings of lions, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and other animals.
Day 8: Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector
After breakfast, you drive to the Ishasha sector, where tree-climbing lions may be seen. After a picnic lunch, you continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and check in at your gorilla lodge.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit
After breakfast, you attend a briefing and are assigned a ranger and gorilla group. The trek may take 2 to 6 hours, including one hour with the gorillas. After trekking, you return for your certificate and relax at the lodge. In the evening, a visit to the nearby Batwa community gives insight into their way of life.
Day 10: Drive to Mgahinga National Park (Kisoro District)
After breakfast, you transfer to Mgahinga National Park, Uganda’s smallest park and the only place in the country where gorillas and golden monkeys live in the same area.
Day 11: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You attend a briefing at Ntebeko before your guided golden monkey trek. The trek takes 2 to 5 hours, including one hour with the monkeys. After lunch, you drive to Lake Bunyonyi and take in views of the lake and its 29 islands.
Day 12: Full Day at Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, a canoe ride takes you to one of the lake’s islands, with chances to see birds in a calm setting. After lunch at your lodge, the afternoon can include a visit to nearby communities to meet local people.
Day 13: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you leave for Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival, you relax at your lodge and prepare for the next day’s activities.
Day 14: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Lake Mburo National Park
The day starts with a sunrise game drive, with sightings of zebras, elands, giraffes, topis, buffaloes, hyenas, leopards, and birds. After lunch, an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo brings chances to see hippos, crocodiles, and birds, followed by time to relax at your lodge.
Day 15: Return to Entebbe or Kampala
After breakfast, you check out and drive back to Entebbe or Kampala, with a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photos.
