Detailed 7-Day Murchison Falls & Kidepo Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kampala
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you are welcomed by your English-speaking driver guide, who goes over your safari plan and answers any questions. You are then transferred to your hotel in Kampala for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Travel from Kampala to Sipi Falls, Nature Walk and Coffee Tour
After breakfast, your driver takes you to Sipi Falls in Eastern Uganda. The journey covers about 273 km, with a stop in Mbale City for lunch. On arrival in Sipi, you check in at your lodge.
In the afternoon, a guided nature walk takes you to see Sipi Falls, with birds and insects visible along the way. After the hike, you visit the nearby community and coffee farms, meeting local Bagisu and Sabiny farmers to learn how coffee is planted, harvested, dried, and processed, followed by a taste of the fresh coffee. You return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After an early breakfast, you check out and begin the 412 km drive to Kidepo Valley National Park. The trip takes around 9 hours, with a lunch stop along the way. On arrival in the evening, you check in at your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Cultural Tour
After breakfast, a morning game drive in the Narus Valley brings sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, and ostriches. You return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, a visit to the local Karimojong community covers their lifestyle, culture, and history. You visit their homes, known as Manyattas, taste traditional food, and listen to stories from the elders before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you check out and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes 6 to 7 hours through Kitgum and Gulu, with a lunch stop in Gulu City. You enter the park through Chobe Gate near Pakwach. On arrival, you check in at your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast, a game drive in the northern part of Murchison Falls National Park brings sightings of lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelopes. You return to your lodge for lunch.
At around 2:00 p.m., a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile takes you to the bottom of the falls, with hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and birds visible along the way. After the cruise, you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Kampala via Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch
After breakfast, you check out and drive to Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch, about 73 km from the park, for a guided walk to see the southern white rhinos up close. After the visit, you continue to Kampala with a lunch stop along the way.
You arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon. If this is your departure day, your driver drops you off at Entebbe International Airport.
