Queen’s Game Track – Top Safari Drive for Wildlife Spotting in Murchison Falls

Queen’s Game Track – Top Safari Drive for Wildlife Spotting in Murchison Falls

Queen’s Game Track is located in the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park and offers exciting safari experiences. The track is named after Queen Elizabeth II, who visited Uganda and explored the park.

Although Queen’s Game Track is the shortest among all the tracks in the park, it is one of the best for wildlife viewing because it brings tourists closer to the animals.

It is about 10 km long and connects with Albert Track and Victoria Track.

Queen’s Game Track

This game track is popular for game drives. Tourists can expect to see animals such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, and Jackson’s hartebeest, among others.

It is also a good place for bird-watching. Birds commonly seen here include the rare black-billed barbet, swallow-tailed bee-eater, northern carmine bee-eater, blue-breasted bee-eater, and red-throated bee-eater.

Besides animals, Queen’s Game Track gives visitors the chance to explore different landscapes of the park.

Tourists will pass through open Savannah grasslands dotted with acacia trees, which offer great views for wildlife photography.

The track also goes through woodlands, where visitors may spot more secretive animals.

Additionally, Queen’s Game Track provides clear views of the Nile River and Murchison Falls. It also leads to the delta area where the Nile flows into Lake Albert.

Visitors in this area may also learn about the culture and traditions of local communities such as the Alur and Acholi, who have lived in the region for generations.

The best time to visit Queen’s Game Track is during the dry season, but it can still be visited in the wet season. The dry months are from June to August and December to February.

Accommodation is available for tourists in the area. Options include Twiga Safari Lodge, Budongo Eco Lodge, and Murchison River Lodge. Most of these lodges offer guided game drives, boat cruises, and other activities.

Queen’s Game Track is a special place for tourists who want a true African safari experience.
