Detailed 7-Day Murchison Falls & Kidepo Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kampala
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your English-speaking driver guide. The guide will take you through your safari plan and answer any questions. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Check in, relax, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 2: Travel from Kampala to Sipi Falls, nature walk and coffee tour
After breakfast, your driver will take you to Sipi Falls in Eastern Uganda. The journey is about 273 km, with a stop in Mbale City for lunch. After arriving in Sipi, check in at your lodge.
In the afternoon, go for a guided nature walk to see the Sipi Falls. Along the way, you may spot birds and insects. After the hike, visit the nearby community and coffee farms. Meet the local Bagisu and Sabiny farmers and learn how coffee is planted, harvested, dried, and processed. You will also taste the fresh coffee. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After an early breakfast, check out and begin the 412 km drive to Kidepo Valley National Park. The trip takes around 9 hours, with a stop for lunch along the way. On arrival in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 4: Morning game drive and cultural tour
Wake up early for breakfast, then go for a morning game drive in the Narus Valley. Look out for animals like lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, and ostriches. After the game drive, return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the local Karimojong community. Learn about their lifestyle, culture, and history. Visit their homes (Manyattas), taste their traditional food, and listen to stories from the elders. After the visit, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, check out and start your drive to Murchison Falls National Park. This journey takes 6–7 hours through Kitgum and Gulu, with a lunch stop in Gulu City. Enter the park through Chobe Gate near Pakwach. On arrival, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast, go for a game drive in the northern part of Murchison Falls National Park. You will see animals like lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and many antelopes. Take photos and enjoy the drive. Return to your lodge for lunch.
At around 2:00 PM, go for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls. On the way, you may see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, birds, and other animals. Take photos and enjoy the view and sounds of the falls. After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Kampala via Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch
After breakfast, check out and drive to Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch, about 73 km from the park. Go for a guided walk to see the southern white rhinos. Take your time to observe and photograph them. After the visit, continue to Kampala with a stop for lunch.
You will arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon. If this is your departure day, your driver will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport. We wish you a safe journey back home.
