Pakuba Game Track – Top Wildlife Viewing Route in Murchison Falls National Park

Pakuba Game Track is located in the northern region of Murchison Falls National Park. It gives tourists the chance to explore different ecosystems in the area.

Pakuba is known for its Savannah grasslands, woodlands, and riverine forests, which provide habitats for many wildlife species.

The track consists of several trails that allow tourists to see various animals as they move through different parts of the park.

Pakuba Game Track

Pakuba Game Track stretches for 17 km and runs parallel to the Albert Nile. It connects the Buligi Game Track to Tangi Gate.

It is a good route for visitors who may be staying outside the park, as it helps link them in and out of the park easily.

Tourists can expect to see animals such as lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and more. These animals can be seen during both morning and afternoon game drives.

Bird lovers also have the opportunity to spot different bird species during game drives and nature walks in the area.

Pakuba Game Track also has historical significance. It was once a hunting ground used by British explorers during the colonial period.

Pakuba Lodge was built as a resting place for these explorers. Although it was later destroyed, it has since been rebuilt to provide comfortable accommodation for tourists.

The best time to visit Pakuba Game Track is during the dry seasons, from June to August and December to February. During these months, animals gather around water sources, making them easier to see.

It takes about 5–6 hours to reach the game track by road. It can be accessed through either Tangi Gate or Wankar Gate.

For tourists arriving by air, flights land at Pakuba Airstrip. The flight takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a short drive to the park.

Accommodation options near the Pakuba Game Track include Anyadwe House, Pakuba Safari Lodge, and Sambiya River Lodge, among others.

Pakuba Game Track is a rich area for wildlife viewing and a great addition to any safari in Murchison Falls National Park.
