Buligi Game Track – Murchison Falls’ Premier Wildlife Viewing Route

Buligi Game Track - Murchison Falls' Premier Wildlife Viewing Route

Buligi Game Track is located in the northern region of Murchison Falls National Park and is a favorite for wildlife lovers and adventure seekers. The game track covers savannah grasslands, woodlands, and riverine forests. It stretches for about 120 to 170 kilometers, offering a special experience for tourists visiting the area.

Buligi Game Track is one of the most popular tracks in Murchison Falls. Tourists can spot many wildlife species including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hippos, hyenas, bushbucks, buffaloes, and more. The track also offers great views of the Nile River as it flows through the park.

It is also home to many bird species, both rare and common. Some of the birds found here include the shoebill stork, African jacana, and African fish eagle.

Tourists can explore Buligi Game Track through activities such as game drives, nature walks, hot air ballooning, bird watching, and picnics. It is an ideal place for those who enjoy being close to wildlife.

Buligi Game Track is located near the famous Murchison Falls, which were named after British geologist Roderick Murchison. This gives the track historical importance in the park.

The area is a key conservation zone for protecting wildlife and is managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, which works hard to maintain both the animals and their habitat.

For tourists looking for more comfort, there are luxury lodges near the track such as Chobe Safari Lodge, Nile Safari Lodge, and Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Buligi Game Track can be reached either by road or by air. By road, it takes about 4 to 5 hours to drive from Kampala.

Tourists can enter through gates leading to the northern part of the park, including Tangi, Chobe, Wankar, and Mubako gates.

By air, visitors can use either Chobe or Pakuba airstrips in the northern part of the park. The flight takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a short drive to the game track.

The best time to visit Buligi Game Track is during the dry seasons, from December to February and June to August, when animals are easier to see.

Buligi Game Track is a great place for anyone looking to enjoy exciting wildlife experiences in Murchison Falls National Park.
